Mornings can be miraculous or they can be messy, depending on your approach. One thing’s for sure, mornings usually set the tone for your day. Hence, what you do within the first hour of waking up is crucial. In comes routines or rituals. It’s ok if you don’t have one. It’s never too late to start. And if you’re not sure where to begin, no worries. Here is a list of morning self-care rituals from 5 successful women.

Janet Mock: Every morning she does Morning Pages by Julia Cameron. This dumps all her thoughts and feelings onto several pages. (Oprah.com)

Oprah Winfrey: “You don’t have anything to give that you don’t have.” The queen of media starts her day off with 20 minutes of meditation, which she says, leaves her feeling full of hope, contentment, and joy. (therichdaily.com)

Arianna Huffington: Instead of peeking at her smartphone, Arianna launches her day with deep breathing, being grateful and setting her daily intention. (mydomain.com)

Payal Kadakia: Unlike Arianna Huffington, the first thing she does is check her smart phone. She follows that up with a 30-minute run or a 10-minute workout in her home. (mydomain.com)

Claudia Chan: Morning routine includes letting the dog out, exercise, meditation, and writing in Evernote all she wants to do for that day. (Forbes.com)

Remember, we’re all different. You do what’s important to you, what will center you and give you the best start to your day. Also keep in mind that people change, and hence, situations change. I’ve adjusted my morning routine several times, and as a matter of fact, I’ll be adjusting it again to include morning pages.
