Joi M Stanley is a graduate of Rutgers University. She holds an MS in Communications.  She is the co-founder of her family-owned business, “LOC SOC” – The ultimate hair accessory item. She is also the founder and president of Progressive Achievers, an organization that Empowers, Educate and Motive Women, giving them the opportunity to network with other professional women.  In 2010, she formed the Inspiring Young Mentors program, leading ladies, which provides mentoring to young girls between the ages of 9-17 in 7 schools in Essex and Union counties in New Jersey. In addition, her annual mother-daughter tea premiered in 2010.

Though she’s accomplished and achieved quite a lot over the last 26 years, her greatest joy is the love of her life and husband of 26 years, Ray; her three sons, Charles, Naeem, and Jabril; and her three grandchildren, Amani, Aliah and Jaxson. Nothing compares to her family.

Wellness Issue

4 and 1/2 years ago, Joi was diagnosed with breast cancer, which she bravely and triumphantly forged through and conquered. Last November, however, she was diagnosed with greaves disease, which is a thyroid related disease. As with all other adversities she’s faced, Joi is finding ways and means like surrendering to successfully treat and manage the adverse effects of this hormonal disorder, and still be her best.
