Dump that phrase, “ACT YOUR AGE.” I’m a different age every year. And I don’t know how to act at the start of each new year because I’ve never been that age before. So I make no apologies for being who I AM, doing what I do and wanting what I want while I acquaint myself with my age at every stage. I am not my age. You are not your age.

I’ve heard, “Age Ain’t Nothing But A Number.” I totally subscribe to that. I’ve also heard, “A lady never reveals her age.” Says who? I do. In a society where #ageism is prevalent, I have grounded myself in my truth.

I am who I am, and who I am is multifaceted. I am 46. I am a woman. I am a mother. I am a wife. I am black. I am a self-care connoisseur. I am……. I am……. I am……. And I am so honored to have been a part the “I AM” short form and female narrative about aging.
