This woman is bold, beautiful, brilliant Black Girl Magic. She exudes love, goodness and grace and sprinkles them to others like confetti. The one and only Kim Roxie dishes on her self-care rituals.
What are you working on, where are you from and where do you live?
My name is Kim Roxie, founder of LAMIK Beauty, a Vegan makeup line seeking to build women’s self-esteem and reveal their natural beauty. Formulated without parabens, I have created environmentally conscious products with a message for multicultural women. LAMIK stands for Love And Makeup In Kindness, because Beauty is Revealed not applied. I am born and raised in Houston, where LAMIK started.
Share with us some of the self-care rituals you practice:
Daily
Giving myself grace allows me to be able to care for myself , and it helps with how I give grace to others . I also write in my Intentionally Journal by Irishea Hilliard.
Weekly
Get out into nature once a week.
Monthly
I meet with a group for group therapy , having a safe space to talk and express myself.
Annually
A retreat away once a year, where I don’t have to answer the phone. Don’t get me wrong the all day spa is great but the reflection time that I get while being away helps my mindset when it’s time to get back to work.
